CONVERSION - Hegarty kicks over to give the Rebels some consolation


TRY - Telusa Veainu dots down for the Rebels after the hooter, with Hegarty's chip kick getting through the defence


The Rebels throw straight to the Force from the line out but are lucky to keep the ball as the ref says the space was closed up - scrum Rebels 10 metres out


Rebels are rumbling up the pitch in search of some consolation points, they get a penalty inside the Forces' 22 and kick for touch


Force go to the back of the lineout and just manage to secure it but its ugly out there as another knock on gives the Rebels a scrum to try and clear their line


The Rebels are penalised in front of the posts and the Force decide to please the crowd and go for the corner


More delays at scrum time as another one is reset


Good open field play and some slick ball skills by the Force looks promising but Cummins in unable to hold on to a tough pass just 10 metres out from the goal line


A poor pass trying to kept the ball in play sees an interception by Kyle Godwin but he is bunted into touch


No team really gaining much momentum into the last quarter of the game, poor handling and scrappy scrums have allowed the Force to sit on their comfortable lead


Force are holding possession but are not doing much with it, it ends with a penalty which Burgess takes quickly and makes good ground, but its soon turned over as Hugh Pyle is penalised at the breakdown


More reset scrums, its really hampering the flow of the game


The blue wall of the Force continues to stem the Rebels attack as they are very lateral in their attack eventually being shunted out into touch


Cummins has a great run down the side, breaking tackles and stepping well, but he steps into touch and its a Rebels lineout just inside their half


More handling errors costing the Rebels as they cough up another ball within the Force half, Ebersohn clearing from the scrum


The Force seem content to slow down play now as the Rebels continue to look for their first points


Ebersohn misses an easy one


Force earn a penalty in a good position as the Rebels are pinned for being off their feet, they go for the posts


Another scrum now for the Force, this time further up the pitch after a good run by Mathewson


Play has slowed down now as the referee is trying to police the scrums


Nothing is going the Rebels way as their mistakes bring to an end any promising attack they might have


Woodward almost makes up for his earlier poor kick by grubbering into the in goal area but he is not quick enough as it rolls dead


Again the Rebels have the ball and again they lose it in a poor pass but the Force hand back possession by kicking the ball out on the full


Rebels are given a penalty from the advantage at the line out but Woodward kicks a shocker over the dead ball line. 22 dropout for the Force


Rebels seeing more of the ball early in the second half, but they need to use it now.


Rebels give away an early penalty to put a stop to their attack and the Force are now attacking from half way


And we are back with the Rebels, who need to come out firing, kicking off through Woodward


The tap is seen as legal but the try is not awarded as Inman is pinned for a double moment on HALF TIME. the Force have absolutly rocked the Rebels in the first 40


A new penalty sees Mitch Inman tap and go five metres out, he is over the line but the referee is unsure if the tap was taken properly - he sends it to the TMO


The maul is collapsed illegally and the Rebels play with the Penalty advantage, five metres out now.


Rebels kick for the corner after an accidental offsides gives them a rare attacking line out


A good line break for Scott Higginbotham sees the Rebels with some forward momentum but its not enough as the they are pinned for going off their feet.


some more aerial ping-pong finally sees Woodward find touch but it is put to the boot again after the Force win the lineout.


Rebels on attack now, desperate for their first points but a horrible pass from Luke Jones sees it dribble into touch.


Both teams test out each others fullbacks with some kicking but Ebersohn over cooks one on a hard, fast track setting up a Rebels scrum in the Forces' Half


Rebels have a bit more of the ball now but it is very stagnant, it all ends with a Rebels knock on.


A bit of respite here as the Force knocks on from the kickoff giving the Rebels a scrum in Force territory


Ebersohn is human as he misses to the right


TRY - Bonus point try in 26 mins Cottrell scores after Junior Rasolea breaks the line and offloads perfectly


CONVERSION - Ebersohn kicking is impeccable today


TRY - Centurion Matt Hodgson scores after Mathewson puts in a box kick which evades Mitchell but not captain Hodgson


PENALTY - Ebersohn slots over a long range effort.


Paul Alo-Emile is penalised at the breakdown near the halfway line and Ebersohn is lining it up for the Force


Rebels keep having to kick possession away to try and gain the territory advantage which gives the Force more opportunity to run at the defense


Rebels have their first chance to run and Woodward is tackled easily into touch.


PENALTY - Rebels are not rolling away in the ruck and Ebersohn slots an easy one.


The Force scrum is scrappy too but its secured and sent out wide, Force not trying to find some spaces.


The Rebels scrum on their own 22 is poor as the Force earn a free kick from it and decide to go for another scrum.


Its all the Force in this opening stages as they earn a penalty and go for the line but they squander their chance by knocking the ball on


CONVERSION - A great strike from out wide for Ebersohn puts the Force out to a 14 - 0 lead within 10 mins


TRY - The Force draw in the Rebels defense and they are left thin on the outside, Ebersohn sends the ball out wide and Luke Morahan is over for the second try for the home team


The Rebels are looking a bit shell shocked as the Forces' pressures sees a line out to the home team on half way


The Rebels get a penalty on halfway and go for the line - it seems the wind is fairly strong in the visitors face making it improbable to kick for posts from way out


Rebels relieve some pressure with a booming kick down field, the Rebels are just inside the Forces' 22 but the line out is secured by the home team and they boot it back to the Rebels' half


Force are looking good as they steal possession from the Rebels and continue to press inside the Melbourne teams 22.


CONVERSION - Ebersohn slides the ball inside the left hand upright and the force lead 7 - 0


TRY - Alby Mathewson has a dart from the ruck and is over the line without being touched, great start by the force


Force get a well structured maul going from the line out and earn an early penalty advantage after a 15 metre forwards push, Force continue probe the defense.


We are off as South African Sias Ebersohn kicks into the Rebels half


Matt Hodgson is making his 100th appearance for the Force today, an incredible achievement for both the player and the club.

The Rebels Started well in their first game against the Cheetahs last week blowing the opposition right out the water while the Force have not had a great start to the season and will hope to get a win at home today.
