Minute Commentary

Remember to join us tomorrow for a Super Saturday of Rugby with five Super Rugby games. We begin with the Hurricanes and the Cheetahs in Wellington, we stay in New Zealand as the Highlanders host the Force before heading across the Tasman where the Brumbies take on the Waratahs at home. Later on we come to South Africa for the Lions against the Blues and close out with the Sharks taking on the Reds The Six Nations also draws to a close with Ireland, England and France still in contention for the trophy. England take on Italy first and ideally need to beat them by 50 points if they don't want to rely on the Ireland vs France game. Ireland need to beat France to take the trophy in Brian O'Driscoll's last game and finally there is the dead rubber between Scotland and Wales - See you all tomorrow!

FULL TIME in Melbourne and the Crusaders walk away with the victory in a tough game, the Rebels probably deserved their bonus point in such an error strewn game

CONVERSION - those two points put them in range of a loosing bonus point.

TRY - Rebels have a penalty and have to go for the line out and drive - the back line joins the maul and Scott Fuglistaller is shunted over, important kick to come

Telusa Veainu makes a good break for the Rebels but a foot in touch brings it to an end, Crusaders, once again, kick for territory

Rebels need to hold onto the ball but they continue to kick away possession, the Crusaders have a line out but its lost forward - Rebels scrum

Crusaders seem content with their lead as they look to wind this game down, Ellis grubbers for territory

Rebels are desperately pushing for a try but mistakes continue to creep in with a midfield mix up leading to a knock on - Crusaders scrum

PEANLTY - The game looks like its been taken away from the Rebels as Taylor gets another one over

The Crusaders should have kept possession but its thrown skew and the Rebels take possession for the scrum

Its an early shove by the Crusaders, the Rebels get a free kick and boot it out - Crusaders still in possession.

Better structure now from the Crusaders as they maul it into the Rebels 22 but they cant hold onto the ball and its another Rebels scrum

Crusaders are getting more free in their passing but Read's offload goes forward - scrum Rebels

Crusaders scrum on their 5 metre line and they earn a penalty for the Rebels coming around - its an easy clearance for Slade

A big pass from the Rebels is intercepted and Tuitavake runs the entire length of the field for nothing as the ref was playing advantage - Rebels go for the line out... its not straight

CONVERSION - Taylor kicks over a beauty from wide out

TRY - Funnell is found out on the wing and Read is able to draw the defense and put over the hooker without a hand laid on him

Its very predictable from the Crusaders and it allows the Rebels to isolate a Saders player and turn the ball over - its kicked down field which allows the Crusaders to try attack again

A bit of gaining grounds from both teams ends in the Rebels overcooking one and its out on the full - Crusaders attacking now

PENALTY - Hegarty steps up and gets his first points for the night

The Rebels attack goes nowhere but they have a penalty in front of the posts, they decide to go for posts

Crusaders knock on during a Rebels attack which gives them another scrum about 10 metres closer this time

There is very little momentum for either team as mistakes hamper any chances of good attacking play - more scrums and more resets

The scrums are once again an issue and the Crusaders earn yet another penalty, the boot the ball out near halfway

PENALTY - Taylor send the Crusader out to a six point lead with his fifth kick

Crusaders earn an early penalty for offsides, the ball is handed to Taylor for a shot at goal

We are back under way! - one of these two teams needs to have a proper go of it in the second half if they are to bank the points. Slade kicks off

PENALTY - Woodward makes it a three point game at HALF TIME

Rebels have a penalty just before half time and decide to try and narrow the gap with a shot at poles

Rebels continue to probe but don't get very far, Hegarty goes for territory and grubbers into the Crusaders 22

Another messy scrum this time by the Crusaders as the Rebels win the penalty and boot it down field to set up another attack

Crusaders try and get some momentum but are unlucky as a tap on pass is ruled forward - scrum Rebels

It ends up as a penalty for the Crusaders who have a chance to get out of their half, but its not out - Woodward returns the kick and its out on halfway

Scrums are still causing problems for both teams as the resets continue

The Crusaders defend brilliantly and manage to turn the ball over and clear - they go on to win the lineout against the throw and make more metres up field

The 22 is charged down and its taken over the goal line by the Crusaders - critical scrum for the rebels here

Crusaders are probing but it's getting scrappy, the Rebels win the ball but kick it into the end goal area where it is dotted down for a 22

PENALTY - Taylor extends the lead

Nothing coming but there was a penalty advantage and the referee wants a word with the Rebels captain. The Crusaders go for posts.

Rebels forced to clear from their try line and it allows the Crusaders to set up another maul, Ellis breaks and the Crusadres are back within one metre

Crusaders play themselves into the Rebels 22 through a great run by Johnny McNicholl, the Saders are then bundled into touch but its much better play from the visitors

Rebels pick up a chip from Read and Inman has a burst along the touch line but he ends up chipping it straight out

PENALTY - Taylor puts the Saders in front with his third shot

The ref has had enough and penalises Weeks, Read points to the posts

Scrums are requiring a number of resets slowing momentum for the Crusaders

Crusaders are on the Rebels 22 after a penalty kick, they set up the maul, Crotty breaks and earns a penalty close to the line, its taken quick by Crockett but he is short - they come back for the penalty advantage and Read opts for a scrum

Crusaders under some pressure as they go backwards in possesssion, its cleared and the Rebels take it quick, they are back on attack

Woodward slides his third attempt wide

Rebels earn a penalty, Burgess shows some intent in trying to take it quickly but its not on the mark so they decide to go for posts

PENALTY - these two continue to trade penalties as Taylor pops over another one

PENALTY - Rebels take the 3 point lead back through Woodward

its all a bit tentative from both teams but the Rebels start to punch some holes in the defense until they earn a penalty for hands in, Woodward lines it up

PENALTY - its calmly slotted over

Crusaders have another penalty in the 22 from the maul now and they decide to try and level the scores, Tom Taylor steps up

The Crusaders earn a penalty as Weeks goes down, Slade puts it onto the Rebels 22 and they drive it up

Rebels have had most of the ball but knock it on allowing the Crusaders to have a go at the first scrum of the game

PENALTY - Early indescression as Crockett had his hands in the ruck, Woodward lines up for his first kick and its a beauty

Crusaders are a bit sluggish with their clearance as its charged down, no harm done as they get it out on the second attempt

We are underway as Jason Woodward kicks off the Read

The weather is perfect in Melbourne with clear skies and not much wind to speak of

Two new flyhalfs for both teams with Colin Slade coming in from fullback for the Crusaders and the youngster Bryce Hegarty getting his opportunity in a tough fixture for the Rebels

The Rebels are hosting the seven time Champions and will need to play far better than last week against the Force where they were blown away. The Saders come off a tight win against the Stormers and its about time that the visitors start gaining momentum
