There is a good crowd in the stadium today and the weather is cooling down after it was 24 degrees earlier today. Good conditions for rugby

The Lions have only tasted victory against the Crusaders three times in 14 encounters dating back to 1998 - the Johannesburg-based side's last win was in a 9-3 arm-wrestle back in 2007 at this stadium.

The last time these two side's met was here at Ellis Park in 2012, and the Crusaders were 23-13 victors on the day.

The Crusaders lost at home 26-29 to the Hurricanes last week and will be looking to get their season back on track with their two-match tour of South Africa before they head back to New Zealand to face the Chiefs.

The Lions have won four out of their six games this season, including three wins at home here at Ellis Park against the Stormers (34-10), Blues (39-36) and the Reds (23-20).

In today's encounter the sixth-placed Lions are hosting the Crusaders, who quite unusually for them, lie 13th on the standings with two wins from five games.
