Minute Commentary

We have two more games coming from South Africa as the Sharks and Cheetahs go head to head after which the Lions face the Stormers in Cape Town - see you then!

The Bulls get themselves into the Waratahs 22 but are penalised! the Waratahs kick the ball into touch and that is FULL TIME

Bulls have to get a converted try to force a draw out of this game as Paige sends the ball down field, looking for territory - Folau sends the ball back as the Bulls get back possession

Bulls are looking determined as they reach the 22 - happy to rumble it up through their forwards as Mbonambi makes good yards, up to the five metre line - but it has been stolen at a critical time and McKibbin puts in a box kick - the Bulls retrive the ball and run it back, earning a penalty for the Waratahs going off their feet. Pollard lines up the PENALTY kick and the Bulls are within seven

The Bulls set a maul from the line out and it is looking good as they get close, but the ball is lost and the Tahs now counter, Dennis makes a strong run up the middle but his pass is ruled forward as we have another scrum near half way for the Bulls

Scrums are not looking steady at all with a brand new front for the Bulls and two new props for the Waratahs as the Bulls look to run it off the base of the scrum - the Bulls are handed the advantage which they take while kicking for touch into the Tahs half

Waratahs are looking for a way out of their half, but are not yet willing to kick it as a massive tackle comes in from Flip van der Merwe

PENALTY - Foley takes the points on offer after the yellow card

Every now and then the Waratahs attempt to take the Bulls in a kicking contest, and it is usually the Bulls that come away with it as Beyers puts the ball out in Tahs territory for a net gain. YELLOW CARD is dished out to Grant Hattingh for a terrible high tackle, wrapping his arm around Hooper's neck

A silly penalty given away by Jono Ross who was clearly off his feet trying to steal the ball - the Waratahs hand the ball to Foley who kicks the PENALTY over easily

Rudi Paige is charged down by Hooper but they are lucky as the ball falls favorably for the visitors, they attempt to clear again, this time through Jacques-Louis Potgieter - the Tahs have the ball at the back as they look to attack, Jacque Potgieter then decides to put in a kick of his own which is knocked on at the back by Beyers under no pressure!

Foley cannot add the three points as the Bulls stay in this game

The scrum is sloppy as the Tahs but in the pressure, Skelton effects another steal as Foley sends it down the centre of the park. Hougaard gets isolated as the Waratahs sweep in and steal the ball back - the penalty advantage is awarded and they go back for a chance for Foley to add some points that are desperately needed

More kicking now from both teams, Piage puts the ball up high for Basson to chase, he does well to secure it and the Bulls now attack in broken play, the ball moves through the hands until it gets kicked dead by one of the Waratahs which means its a Bulls scrum on the Tahs five metre line

Bulls build themselves into a position where they are in front of the posts so Paige sends it to Jacques-Louis Potgieter who is in the pocket for a drop goal - but it is wide from a long way out

The ball is kicked up ad down the field as both look for some territory, it ends with Hougaard kicking the ball out just inside Waratahs territory - the lineout is won by the Tahs but Phipps cant control it, Paige runs onto the ball and wins his team a scrum inside the Tahs 22

Waratahs counter from the back as a great offload from Jacques Potgieter to Skelton sees him hand off the defense before off loading to the speedy Hooper, eventually the ball is lost and the Bulls now have a chance to counter, they get close as Jacques-Louis Potgieter sends a cross kick to Basson, knowing he had a penalty advantage, they come back for the PENALTY which Jacques-Louis Potgieter slots over for the first points in the half

Bulls have come out positively as they look to throw everything into their attack, but it is fruitless as the Waratahs isolated the ball carrier and earn a penalty, it is a good kick from Foley who sends the ball downfield. The Line out is poached by Hattingh and with that the Bulls are awarded a penalty and they in turn send the ball back into the Tahs territory

We are back for the SECOND HALF as Jacques-Louis Potgieter kicks us underway with the Bulls still being in this game!

The lineout is scrappy as Paige recovers the ball - the Waratahs are penalised as they look to flood the ruck - Jacques-Louis Potgieter steps up again and the PENALTY is good as the Bulls strike back on HALF TIME

Bulls feel a little more momentum as they get another penalty in their half, Jacques-Louis Potgieter puts it into touch for one last attempt at points before halfway

PENALTY - it is a great strike and the Bulls have three points in the bag

The Bulls finally see some reward from some good scrum pressure as the Waratahs are penalised for the scrum collapsing - Jacques-Louis Potgieter steps up for a difficult kick to try and get the first points on the board

It is another scrum, this time to the Bulls, Paige gets the ball back from No.8 and sends it down field to Folau - this time the fullback decides to kick himself as the Bulls set their line out on halfway

It is very stop-start as now the Waratahs are awarded another penalty for the Bulls indiscretions at the ruck - Foley steps up to push the lead out further but the penalty is very wayward

There is a stop in play now as Pieter van Zyl comes off with a knee injury. The Waratahs have a scrum on the halfway this time as the Tahs look to form an attack from the set piece, however it is not steady as the referee resets it a couple times

Both teams, when looking to attack keep making silly errors at critical times as the Waratahs now look to throw a loopy pass that goes forward - now it's another Bulls scrum ion the halfway

Bulls have another scrum it is powerful, giving them the frontfoot, they look to bash it up again but again they are penalised as they find themselves isolated - Foley kicks the ball down into the Bulls 22 as the Waratahs secure the line out

Bulls finally get some time on the ball as they attack up to the Tahs 22 - the ball is slowed down as the breakdown is dominated by the Waratahs, Skelton secures the ball as the Bulls are penalised and their attacking chance comes to an end

Waratahs send the ball up field through a kick that finds some space to bounce, Beyers collects it but gets isolated and the Waratahs have a PENALTY which Foley pops over

Bulls have no rhythm at all in these early phases - they send the ball through the backline but it is knocked on in a tackle and the Tahs have possession again at the scrum

PENALTY - the Tah's had a penalty advantage and Foley takes the chance for points by knocking over the kick

Foley throws a great cut out pass for Folau who manages to break a tackle or two before offloading , the Tahs are deep into Bulls territory as Keepu receives the and runs over the line - the try is not given as there was obstruction that allowed the prop through the gap

Hooper sneaks into a ruck just before it forms and poaches the ball giving the Waratahs another chance to counter attack. Beale is running the show as he breaks some tackles before putting it onto the boot for Benn Robinson to chase of all people! But it is Basson who gets back first

Hooper sneaks into a ruck just before it forms and poaches the ball giving the Waratahs another chance to counter attack. Beale is running the show as he breaks some tackles before putting it onto the boot for Benn Robinson to chase of all people! But it is Basson who gets back first

The Bulls have a scrum after Beale tries to link up with Folau, but it is forward - the scum is solid as Jacques-Louis Potgieter tries to kick down field but it is dotted down as Foley kicks it deep

Beale's kick direction is good but it falls well short

Waratahs attacking through the phases, their big men in Potgieter and Skelton making yards - the Waratahs have a penalty for incorrect entry from the Bulls and it's Beale who steps up for a long kick

Bulls taste some of their own medicine as they attempt a driving maul but the Tahs drive the Bulls out into touch - Waratahs lineout as they attack from their own 22

First line out for the Bulls and it goes to Matfield, the Bulls kick the ball down field and its Potgieter who counters against his own team, Skelton finds the ball in his hands and tries a pass to Beale who can't control with acres os space in front of him

TRY - The Waratahs snatch the ball out of the air straight off the kick off, Hooper runs the ball in and from the first ruck Adam Ashley-Cooper finds a hole and offloads to Folau who is in under the posts - it took all of 28 seconds. The CONVERSION is over from Foley

We are underway as Foley kicks us off in Sydney

Another late change sees Palu withdraw from the match with his father being buried this week - this sees Hoiles come into his spot on the bench

The conditions in New South Wales look good for some running rugby - it is a clear night with very little wind to speak of - the pitch itself does not look great though as there is clearly two types of turf grafted together

This game sees the long awaited and contentious return of fullback, Israel Folau, he links up with old mate Kurtley Beale and these two superstars will be looking to cause havoc with the Bulls defensive line. Meanwhile the Bulls have had to draft in Ulrich Beyers at fullback as Jurgen Visser was unable to overcome his foot injury

Welcome to Sydney where the Waratahs host the traveling Bulls. The 'Tahs have had some mixed results recently with two tough games against the Sharks and Force as they returned home. They will be looking for victory at home against the abrasive Bulls
