Minute Commentary

A very controversial ending to the game, the Reds just can't seem to find any luck! We go across to South Africa later on for two more games as the Stormers and Cheetahs host the Force and Brumbies respectively - see you then!

The kick-off is gathered by the Reds who have one last chance as Tapuai hits a gap, the ball squirts out of a ruck and the Rebels gather the ball and boot it into touch. That's FULL TIME as the Rebels steal the victory

PENALTY - Woodward gives the Rebels the lead in the last minute of play

Rebels trying to milk a penalty but there is scuffle in back-play! Steve Walsh has a word against Sean McMahon and gives the penalty to the Reds who get themselves into Rebels territory - The TMO calls back to Walsh to look at the fight as he believes that Ed O'Donoghue has gouged the eyes of Scott Higginbotham so it becomes a RED CARD for O'Donoghue ... the penalty is also taken back so now the Rebels have a kickable penalty

Rebels are in the right half of the field but it is a Reds line-out, which is secured, the ball is then cleared but it stays in field as the Rebels attack through Hegarty

PENALTY - Harris slots a difficult one and the Reds even up the score

Reds get a penalty in a kickable position but it is a tough call on the captain - Horwill decides to go for the posts to tie up the game with around 5 minutes to go

The Reds had some big numbers on the outside but Anthony Fainga'a tried to go through the man and then sent a poor offload, it is knocked on as the Rebels play - advantage is over as the Rebels then knock on giving the Reds the scrum

Rebels are awarded a penalty for the Reds being offsides, it is a kickable one that will see the Rebels take a slender lead. Woodward adds the PENALTY with a good strike

CONVERSION is over by Mike Harris

Jamie-Jerry Taulagi chases a kick, puts in a massive hit and then gets over the ball to win a penalty - the Reds boot it to the 5 metre line and set the maul, it is well set but the ball tumbles out backwards, Genia shovels it on and keeps the ball alive - Genia sends it to Ben Lucas who has the line at his mercy as he slides in next to the posts for a TRY!

Scrum is steady but Genia messes around at the back so Burgess is on him to turn the ball over, Rebels swing the ball through the hands looking for space - Woodward runs too sideways and then tries a chip that goes straight into touch

Rebels are the ones who look to be trying to keep the ball alive, they burst down the wing but the ball is knocked on - Reds scrum

Play is slowing down on regular occasion as the medical teams keep rushing on - Jono Owen, who was subbed on earlier, is now off. Woodward has a kick at goal but he pushes it out to the right

Some more slick hands and offloading from the ground finds Pat Leafa in space, he breaks forward and gets the Rebels within 5 metres - the ball gets swung back but it is a poor pass that sees the visitors back near the 22, they rebuild but there is a knock on - Reds scrum

After all that pressure from the Reds the Rebels do well to clear their lines, the Reds take the ball quickly though and get back on the attack - it does not last long as McMahon steals the ball back

The scrum is steady as the ball is swung wide. They then try and bash it up through the forwards again, the Rebels just about holding on - Horwill charges over the line but he losses the ball! It is knocked on so the Rebels have a 5 metre scrum to try and clear the ball from

Reds tap and go their penalty and keep bashing against the Rebels line. The ball becomes unplayable so the Reds now have a scrum to attack from but the Rebels defense must be congratulated so far

The Reds go for the line-out and not the kick at goal as the maul goes to ground, the ball is being played up by the forwards but it is another penalty so the referee has a word with the Rebels

Reds Look to strike back as they kick a penalty to touch to set a line-out deep inside the Rebels territory - they set the maul and get a penalty advantage, having a go now Harris gets within 10 metres, the Reds go from one side of the field to the other until they go back for the penalty

Rebels seeing all of the ball in the early exchanges as the Rebels keep the ball alive through some offloading, the ball finds its way to Burgess who is able to canter over for his second TRY. Woodward adds the CONVERSION

We are back for the SECOND HALF as Woodward kicks off onto the Reds, Horwill can't control it as the Rebels regather

From the Scrum Lucas hands the ball back on the inside to Tapuai who cuts through the gap and gets hauled down only 3 metres out the ball comes back for Greg Holmes who pumps his legs to get over for the TRY under the posts. Harris adds the CONVERSION - That is HALF TIME

There is some tension as Holmes and Jones have a bit of an altercation, Steve Walsh sends it upstairs but doesn't really think there is much in it - he warns the captains but the game continues with a Reds scrum

The scrum goes horribly for the Reds as the referee hands a penalty to the Rebels, they get deep into the Reds half and attack off the line-out

The Reds attacking in the middle of the park but it is very predictable as the Rebels hold them steady, the ball is eventually coughed up and the Rebels have another scrum for their efforts

The Rebels are really upping the tempo in this game while the Reds are looking a little lethargic, they have left holes in the defense that Burgess has been able to take advantage of - its a Rebels scrum that sees them go blind through the scrumhalf, Burgess kicks it but it is dotted down for a 22 drop out

Rebels have a driving maul that is working well for them, but Horwill finally gets in through the middle, the ball comes out to Burgess who busts through three or four tackles and keeps going through the 22 to dot down for the TRY under the posts! The CONVERSION is easily kicked over by Woodward

Reds set up another line-out after they get the scrum penalty, it is won by the Rebels however as they look to counter through Burgess. The Referee penalises Horwill for taking the player out past the ball - the referees are being far stricter on this

Reds still looking to get the ball moving as Ben Lucas hits a hole, he has one to beat but is wrapped up, the Rebels go off their feet and the penalty is awarded. Harris has a kick right in front and he easily nails the PENALTY

Burgess does a whole lot of dummy passes but then gets the ball away in a half gap, the Rebels keep going forward but it is great work by Browning who wins a penalty as he competes for the ball on the ground

Scrum penalty against the Reds, the Rebels have a chance to get themselves into the opposition half as a good kick gets them near the 10 metre line. The line out is stolen by the Reds but Taulagi cant do much as his leg goes into touch

Rebels effect a great turnover and they flood forward with some pace, great support play through out sees them go the length of the field as Woodward gets to about 5 metres out before popping the ball off the ground to Kingston who sprints onto the ball and scores the TRY. Woodward does well to get the CONVERSION

Reds get close again but this time the Rebels win a penalty as the Reds hold on, Burgess taps and goes but it is a bit of a waste as he goes no where and the ball has to be put out gifting possession back to the Reds

Reds have a penalty but decide on the lineout, the drive gets them close but they go to the backline, it is thrown wide and intercepted! The Rebels get pushed back with the ball but they are able to secure and clear as the Reds have another lineout on the 22

Rebels scrum is solid as they hand the ball to Woodward on the blindside, he tries to boot it up field but it is out on the full. The Reds line-out is secured as they drive forward about 10 metres out

Reds get themselves into the Rebels 22 after a penalty kick, Cooper is down on the side line and it does not look good for the centurion in Reds colours - he is off as Ben Lucas comes into flyhalf

Rebels go for a run as Inman offloads in the tackle to Kingston who comes in on an angled run to make some metres, they then get themselves a PENALTY that Woodward pops over

Reds are rumbling up towards the line, trying to take advantage of the man advantage. The ball is swung wide to Shipperley but he is stopped short - it now comes back to the man who was knocked over, Mike Harris, through a flat pass by Cooper, he steps inside and scores the TRY. Cooper adds the CONVERSION

Mike Harris is down as his kick was attempted to be charged down by Scott Higginbotham he clashes into Harris and the ref says its a bit cynical so he hands him a YELLOW CARD

We are underway as the Reds kick off against the Rebels

The weather in Brisbane are a little steamy with warm tempretures and overcast conditions

The Reds have stuck with the same team that went down badly against the Crusaders team last weekend but they will be hoping that home ground advantage will help their cause

Welcome to Brisbane for this all Aussie derby with the Reds, who are desperate for a win, taking on the Rebels who themselves are looking to bounce back
