The Cheetahs are relentless on attack but somehow the Sharks snatch a turnover. They keep it tight and Reinach boots it into touch. It is all over, the Sharks hang on to claim a narrow away win!

77

Daniller takes the ball clean from the restart and looks set to score for all money but Bosman makes a brilliant try-saving tackle.

75

The Sharks wrestle back possession and go close after Bosman and Steyn combine. Prinsloo is pinged in front of the upright so Lambie pops over the PENALTY!

72

They attack from the line-out but cough up possession. The Sharks go wide quickly where Du Toit finds himself on the wing. The lock shows a great turn of pace to dot down but he had a foot in touch. The Cheetahs breathe again!

70

The Cheetahs run from deep inside their half and win another penalty.

67

Ndungane's buckled into touch after a clever kick through. The Sharks are feeling the pressure and Goosen lands a PENALTY to reduce the deficit to four.

63

Goosen kicks the CONVERSION and it's seven-point ball game.

62

The Cheetahs have got their second wind. Again they go wider to Sadie who slices through Mtawarira and Ndungane and has the speed to dive over in the corner. TRY time!

59

Goosen adds the CONVERSION.

58

The Cheetahs attack with width and a brilliant offload in a gang tackle by Van der Walt sees Labuschagne run in a crucial TRY!

56

Daniller breaks clean through on the counter attack and links up with his captain who finds Pretorius. He tries to link up but Pietersen intercepts and hacks the ball down field.

54

After an eternity of reset scrums the Sharks attack through Pietersen who chips ahead but the ball rolls into touch.

49

Oosthuizen is on at tighthead but the Sharks pulverise the Cheetahs' scrum. Lambie slots his most difficult PENALTY of the evening.

46

Lambie kicks the CONVERSION!

45

A turnover by Van dcer Merwe sees the Sharks go wide quickly. Lambie grubbers forward with Jordaan in pursuit. Jordaan tackles Daniller into touch five metres out and the Sharks maul over. Coetzee dots down, TRY time Sharks.

43

Goosen is forced to kick twice by the Sharks' aggressive defence. They jumped the gun on this occasion; Goosen takes the tee but he misses to the right.

41

And we are back underway!

40

The Sharks defend their line bravely and force a knock-on in contact to bring the half to a close.

38

The Cheetahs maul again but Kankowski wins a scrum for the Sharks by holding up the ball in the air but the Cheetahs reply in exact fashion.

36

Steyn tries a quick deep restart but it backfires as it goes directly into touch. The Cheetahs can't find an opening but they do get a shot at goal. Instead, they set up the line-out.

34

Van der Walt breaks the line with a powerful straight surge before being reeled in. Goosen goes for the drop-goal but it's off target.

32

The Sharks attack once more but a knock-on by Steyn brings an end to that attacking sequence.

30

Lambie's CONVERSION is good.

28

Goosen makes his first mistake as he knocks a high ball backwards and into touch and it proves costly. The Sharks win scrappy ball at the line-out but Mvovo swoops on the ball and runs straight through. Soft TRY against the Cheetahs.

27

The Cheetahs' discipline is letting them down as they gift Lambie another kick at goal. He makes no mistake, 5-9.

25

PENALTY! The Sharks threaten the hosts' line with patient phase play and force the Cheetahs into a penalty. Lambie lands it to put the Sharks in front.

22

Lambie looks for field position but Rhule replies with a solid touchfinder.

20

Viljoen is blown up on the deck in his 22 and Lambie kicks the easy PENALTY!

15

The Cheetahs manage a turnover and Goosen quickly sums up the situation and finds touch in the Sharks' 22 where the visitors knock-on in contact.

12

Jordaan breaks away, draws Rhule and unleashes Burden but the pass is forward.

9

TRY! The Cheetahs maul their way over and Van der Walt scores in the corner. Goosen misses the conversion.

5

The Sharks win the ball with good counter rucking but the ball is ripped away and hacked forward. It's a foot race between Mvovo and Le Roux which Mvovo wins and kicks the ball into touch.

4

Steyn is penalised at the breakdown so Goosen lines up a 56-metre kick at goal but his effort drops well short.

2

The Sharks regain possession and immediately fling it wide to Mvovo who darts into the 22 before a forward pass gives the Cheetahs some breathing space.

0

Lambie gets us going! Pietersen catches the kick-off but is tackled into touch.

-5

The match will also mark referee Kaplan’s 100th game and his policing of the breakdown will be all-important as both teams will look for quick, clean ball. We are moments away from kick-off.

-10

Both teams have exciting backlines with creative playmakers and out-and-out finishers. The battle between Rhule and Pietersen should be electric. Rhule and Sadie will make their debuts for the Cheetahs at this level while Van der Merwe will make his Sharks Super Rugby debut on loan from the Lions.

-20

The major talking point of this clash has been the battle of the flyhalves, with Goosen and Lambie set to go head-to-head. For either to thrive, they will need front foot ball from the forwards, so the battle up front will be vital. Nyakane has his work cut out for him as he goes up against the experienced Du Plessis, but Oosthuizen is waiting in the wings should the youngster buckle.

-30

Welcome to our countdown to what should be a highly entertaining match between the Cheetahs and the Sharks in Bloemfontein.
