Bulls win a free-kick at the scrum and tap and go in search of that bonus point TRY, which is scored by Werner Kruger as he bashes over under the posts. Steyn kicks the CONVERSION and that is FULL-TIME at Loftus. The Bulls really didn't look like they were going to win that game at the beginning of the half. Great fightback from the Bulls but the Force must be commended for their effort. Scoreline didn't really reflect the match. Final score 36-26 to the Bulls. Join us as the Sharks take on the Stormers in Durban at 7pm.

76

Bulls win a penalty as the Force go off their feet at the breakdown. A little sigh of relief from the Bulls. Basson is down and doesn't look comfortable at all. Could be a serious lay-off.

75

Break in play as a number of players are starting to battle with cramp. The Bulls need to try and maintain possession in these last 5 minutes. Scrum to the Force just inside the Bulls half.

71

Force blown-up for collapsing the maul and the ref warns the whole side for their behaviour at maul. The Bulls maul from the 22 and Jean Cook gets over for his first TRY in Super Rugby. Phenomenal maul from the Bulls. Steyn adds the CONVERSION and the Bulls lead 29-26.

68

Bulls win a PENALTY just outside the Force 22 and Steyn kicks it over. Bulls starting to gain a little ascendency. 22-26 to the Force.

65

Bulls really lacking precision today. Losing line-outs and throwing possession away at the moment. The Force really hoping to keep their tails up for the last 15 minutes.

62

The Force battling to break down the defence of the Bulls and spill the ball forward close to the Bulls 22 trying to get Ebersohn another opportunity for a drop goal. Bulls scrum about 25 metres from their own line.

60

Bulls can't put anything of substance together and look very flat on attack. Serfontein on the field and will be hoping to spark some life in this Bulls team.

56

The Force play a smart little move off the line-out and some great skill from Nathan Charles as he chips and regathers. Some more enterprising play from the Force as Chris Alcock breaks a number of tackles and then off the ruck Toby Lynn gets over for his first TRY of the season in his 50th game for the Force. The CONVERSION is good from Ebersohn and the Force lead 26-19

55

The Bulls don't get anything from the line-out. The Force defend ferociously and win a penalty. The Bulls went through 13 phases but don't have anything to show for it. Ebersohn get's them out of their 22.

52

The Bulls have a penalty but don't go for the three points and go for the corner. Massive drive needed here as they have the line-out on the 5 metre line.

51

Force penalised at the scrum and the Bulls kick the penalty into the force 22. Don't be surprised if the Bulls maul this one.

50

Some abrasive play in the middle of the field as Jacques Potgieter is floored trying to make a tackle. Think he might be a little concussed. Scrum to the Bulls on their own 10 metre line.

50

Potgieter off the field as Jean Cook gets his first cap for the Bulls.

47

The Bulls string some phases together but they not really making metres. The ball comes out and Steyn throws a wide pass that is intercepted by Angus Cottrell who jogs 50 metres the score the TRY. Ebersohn kicks the CONVERSION. We are all square at 19-19.

44

The Bulls use the ball finally and make it count as Sampie Mastriet gets over for his first Super Rugby TRY. Get use of the shortside again from the Bulls and Mastriet leaves Cummins for dead with some quick feet and scores even with Kyle Godwin hanging on. Great try. Steyn can't kick the conversion. Bulls leading 19-12

42

The Force get on the front foot and Sias Ebersohn kicks another DROP GOAL. The Bulls starting to get beaten at their own game here. 14-12 to the Bulls.

41

We are back underway in the second half. The Force kick deep. Jano Vermaak is on for Hougaard.

40

The Force lose captain Matt Hodgson to an injury. Massive blow for the Perth team. Bulls have a penalty and kick it to the Force 22 and set up a driving maul. Steyn puts up the kick into the 22 and Alfie Mafi and Bjorn Basson both go up for it and the Force player wins the exchange. The Bulls had advantage anyway and Steyn will kick for goal again right on the stroke of HALF-TIME. The PENALTY is good and the Bulls go into the break 14-9 up. Very disjointed from the Bulls even though they have had most of the ball. They will be happy that they are leading but they will be disappointed they don't have more points going into the break.

39

Ebersohn kicks off the scrum and Kirchner tries to return the favour but kicks it out on the full and the Force win a line-out close to the Bulls 22.

38

The Bulls use the short side beautifully as Kirchner just taps it on the Basson who shows so much pace and leaves Tupou flat-footed and goes over but the TMO is brought in to check a forward pass. The pass is forward and the Bulls are denied a try. Scrum to the Force

36

Calm stuff from Kirchner as he shepards the ball into touch after a grubber through from Stanley. Bulls clear the ball out of their half.

34

The Bulls win a PENALTY as Mafu is penalised for collapsing the maul. Steyn regains the lead for the Bulls 11-9.

30

An absolute cracker of a kick! PENALTY is over and the Force go into a 9-8 lead

29

The 'use it' law comes into play as Mathewson doesn't use the ball at the ruck and the scrum is awarded to the Bulls but there is a flag up and Chilliboy is blown up for charging the ruck with his shoulder. Penalty to the Force and Ebersohn is having a shot from about 58 metres on the angle.

26

The Bulls penalised for not rolling away at the break-down. Ebersohn takes a shot from just in front of the halfway line but it is right in front. He makes no mistake and the PENALTY is over. 8-6 to the Bulls.

24

Both teams using the up and under a lot and the game is being played a lot between the 10-metre lines.

22

Force are making the breakdown a bit of a problem for the Bulls and turn it over as they kick deep again and the Bulls kick it out on their 22. Once again Steyn puts up the Gary Owen and wins it back.

20

Bulls competing at the line-out well and force a mistake from the Force to win the scrum for a skew throw.

17

Mastriet with some very slick feet as he coasts through the Force defence but it pulled down on the 22. The Bulls win a PENALTY straight in front on the 22. Steyn doesn't make a mistake and takes the lead to 8-3 to the Bulls

15

Ebersohn tries another drop goal but shanks it badly and the ball goes dead. The Bulls kick deep of the 22 drop out.

13

Scrum to the Force in the Bulls half of the field. Small blindside on offer as the scrum goes to ground again. Wet conditions mean that there could be a couple of reset scrums.

10

Solid first scrum from the Bulls as the ball pops out the side but Hodgson cleans up. Ball still being kicked quite a bit which is understandable. The Force have a good passage of play and flyhalf Sias Ebersohn knocks over the DROP-GOAL. 5-3 to the Bulls.

8

First scrum of the day goes straight to ground. Force finally got the ball, can they make it count?

5

The Bulls are the only team to have the ball in the opening exchanges. Force get the ball and hoof it back to the Bulls who are not shy to put it in the air with some wet weather around.

2

Morne Steyn coasts through a massive gap as the Force defence is absolutely absolutely nowhere and he runs about 35 metres to score the first TRY in the corner. Great start for the home team. Steyn pulls the conversion wide. 5-0 to the Bulls.

1

The Bulls get us going in Pretoria as the The Force take it deep and look to run it from deep.

-5

Rain starting to come down at Loftus. The ground is surrounded by some ominous looking clouds.

-15

Typical highveld thunderstorm heading towards Loftus at the moment. Hopefully it will not influence the kick-off of the game.

-30

Half an hour away from kick-off at Loftus as the Bulls prepare to take on the Western Force. The Bulls ground out a good win against the Stormers last weekend and it seems that the Force won't be much or a contest.
