Minute Commentary

Jonathan Sexton can't add the extras, as the hooter for FULL-TIME goes and the B&I Lions take a deserved 59-8 from a rout over the hapless BaaBaas. We have plenty more action to come, including the Golden Lions v Samoa that is currently underway

TRY - There is one last flurry from the Lions, with Alun Wyn Jones gets the final try.

BaaBaas throwing it around, but again just going sideways and making very little progress

Jonathan Sexton adds the CONVERSION as the Lions goes past the half-ton - 54-8

TRY - Dan Lydiate sits at the back of a strong maul as the rout continues

Breakdown penalty to the Lions - they set up a line-out just on 5m out

Another scrum penalty against the BaaBaas - they have done the Barbarians club's reputation a disservice with this performance

TRY - Alex Cuthbert gets another as the Lions again expose the BaaBaas' poor tackling. No conmversion - 47-8

Lions win a line-out steal and the ball is hacked downfield. The BaaBaas attempt an attack, but concede a penalty - all very sloppy now - the game is well over as a contest

Penalty to the BaaBaas as the Lions start to lose composure

Joe Rocokoco again attempts to spark something, but the Baabaas lack the finishing qualities of the Lions

Jonathan Sexton can't add the extras - 42-8

TRY - Alex Cuthbert gets this one, as the BaaBaas turn over yet another ball inside their half.

TRY - Jonathan Davies gets the score, after he pounces on a very sloppy BaaBaas pass inside their 22. Jonathan Sexton, on for Farrell, slots the CONVERSION for a 37-8 lead

The conversion is not over - 8-30

TRY - The BaaBaas are on the board, a turnover near their 22 and finally the passes stick - Rocokoco making good ground before feeding Kahn Fotuali'i for the 5-pointer

Lions still dominating the set pieces and that is why the BaaBaas are not in the game - penalties also flowing freely

The Lions now throwing it around BaaBaas style, but the conditions and poor execution combine to rob them of another try metres from the line

Justin Tipuric charges at the line, from 20m out, but Joe Rokocoko stops him just short.

The BaaBaas looking lost at sea - some individuals making half-hearted attempts, but mostly it is all the Lions

Owen Farrell slots the CONVERSION to make it 30-3

TRY - Mike Phillips strolls through a hole as huge as a barn from a line-out just outside the 22 and the Lions now have daylight

Dimitri Yachvili puts the ball out on the full after a turnover - poor play

Nick Evans gets the second half underway

Scrum PENALTY to the Lions. Owen Farrell, from just on 50m out on the angle, slots the kick to give the Lions a 23-3 lead at the HALF-TIME break. The Lions have been good value for this lead. See you in 10 minutes!

Another Lions move ended by a handling error

Scrum penalty against the BaaBaas - they are in deep trouble in the set pieces

Very stop-start game, the humidity making ball control very difficult. The Lions though have looked a far more accomplished combination and are good value for their lead

Owen Farrell produces one of the more humorous moments, attempting a pass, but only succeeding in flopping the ball down a metre in front of him as it slips out of his hands

Owen Farrell adds the CONVERSION for a 20-3 lead.

TRY - Mike Phillips snipes from a ruck just outside the 22 and is tackled just short, but stretches for the score

BaaBaas penalised at a tackle just outside the Lions 22, after making some good progress

Owen Farrell adds the CONVERSION and it is 13-3

TRY - Lions captain Paul O'Connell gets the first five-pointer of the tour, diving over from a metre out.

Lions on the charge - working it through the phases inside the BaaBaas 22

Scrums remain a mess - another free kick against the BaaBaas

Lions return the favour - taking it through several phases before another knock-on comes.

Another turnover for the Lions, near halfway, as the BaaBaas continue to struggle with ball control

Scrum PENALTY to the Lions. This time Owen Farrell is on target - 6-3

Another promising Lions move comes to an end with a handling error inside the BaaBaas 22 as the humidity continues to influence the flow of the game

Lions win a great turnover, but Sean Maitland fails to hold onto the ball

Elliot Daly, from just on 50m out, slots the PENALTY to make it 3-all

Penalty to the BaaBaas near halfway for a transgression at the breakdown

Owen Farrell is well wide with his penalty attempt, that's a real shocker!

Scrum penalty to the Lions - the 7-man BaaBaas are in trouble

Sean Maitland chasing a kick ahead, but he just fails to beat the cover -ball carried over, 5m scrum to Lions

A powerful bust from Jamie Roberts but his pass doesn't go to hand and the ball goes forward. Scrum to the Lions on their own 10-metre line.

A few handbags here. Farrell and Brits have a slight altercation and Brits lands a good left hook to Farrell's jaw. He retaliates and the penalty goes to the Lions. YELLOW-CARD for Brits.

The Lions kick deep and the BaaBaa's return the favour but the kick from Rokocoko isn't great. Line-out to the Lions just outside the Barbarians 22.

The Barbarians are up for this and putting in some serious hits. They will be smarting from the loss last week. They are a little overeager and the PENALTY goes to the Lions. Farrell knocks it over and the Lions lead 3-0.

Underway in Hong Kong. The Barbarians take it in but there is a turnover. The Lions are on the attack early.

Welcome to Hong Kong for the opening match of the 2013 B&I Lions tour, when they take on the Barbarians.
