Minute Commentary

That is it. FULL-TIME in Sydney. Whoever said the Lions series was dead was incredibly mistaken. What a series, what a game. The Lions break their 16 year drought and take the series 2-1. We are back to Super Rugby next as the Cheetahs host the Blues, the Sharks take on the Bulls and the Stormers go to PE to to play the Kings.

Incredible scenes in Sydney. The Lions have been unbelievable today. They win another scrum penalty and they kick to the corner when they could easily have gone for goal. 13-man line-out is the call.

The Wallabies are throwing one last attack at the Lions but it is fairly poor and O'Connor has to kick. Line-out to the Lions inside their 22.

Another Lions penalty. They have been incredible at the scrum and fully deserve this margin. The kick is knocked out just passed the Wallabies 10-metre line.

That is it. Jamie Roberts just justified his selection. A great break from the centre as he hits a great angle and runs in the TRY. Halfpenny kicks the CONVERSION and it is now a rout. 41-16 to the Lions.

A bad attempted tackle from Genia on Halfpenny as he slips passed him and offloads to his fellow Welshman George North who goes over for the TRY. Halfpenny's conversion is wide and it is 34-16 to the Lions.

Penalty to the Lions as Leali'ifano is pinged for sealing off. Sexton knocks it out just passed halfway.

The Wallabies are really close here after a couple pick and goes. Got the advantage but they want five-pointer.

A great TRY for the Lions. Davies gets on the outside of Ashley-Cooper and he offloads to Halfpenny who drops it on the inside to Sexton who goes over for the try. The TMO is called in but the Try is good. Halfpenny kicks the CONVERSION. 29-16 to the Lions.

Australia are building up ominously here. Massive effort needed here from the Lions on defence as Falatau steals it and the Lions break but Davies is tackled into touch just outside the Wallabies 22.

A massive scrum from the Lions and they win the PENALTY. Alun Wyn Jones won't think twice as he points to the posts. Halfpenny kicks the penalty and it is 22-16 to the Lions.

Ben Mowen flirting with the offside line. Got away with a couple in that movement. Scrum to the Lions six metres from the Wallabies 22.

Another PENALTY to the Wallabies. Leali'ifano knocks the kick over. Such a good ball-striker and it is 19-16 to the Lions.

Kurtley Beale is such a mercurial player. Really has such a great understanding. He chips and regathers and a good Genia box kick puts the Lions right back into their 22 and Sexton takes it into touch.

Dan Lydiate is pinged for not rolling away. Leali'ifano steps up from 38 metres out. The PENALTY is good and the Lions lead 19-13.

The Wallabies get the second 40 minutes going.

James O'Connor shows his flair and instinct. Takes it off the first phase and steps inside a few and take Mike Phillips with him as he goes over for the TRY. Leali'ifano knocks the CONVERSION over and it is 19-10 at HALF-TIME.

Last shot from the Wallabies before the break. Scrum on the Lions five-metre line.

A penalty won by the Wallabies. Solid defence from them and they win the penalty. The kick goes out seven metres short of the Lions line.

A hlaf break from Beale puts Mogg away but as he clipped by Parling he knocks it forward. Scrum to the Lions just outside their 22.

The Lions head over 20 phases. Massive build-up but great patience from the Wallabies. They are on the Australian 22.

Folau is off the field. Massive blow. Jesse Mogg on the park but with only one other back on the bench they could get thin in the back division later on. The Lions have absolutely everything going for them.

The Wallabies take a quick throw right on their own line. Suicidal - but it worked out and they exit their 22. A pass from Ashley-Cooper goes to O'Brien but they knock it on. Scrum to the Wallabies and Ben Alexander is given a YELLOW-CARD for repeated infringements at the scrum. Halfpenny's PENALTY kick is a formality and the Lions lead 19-3.

Attacking line-out for the Lions just outside the Wallabies 22 after a poor kick from Beale.

Great penalty won by the Wallabies. The kick is out 18 metres from the Lions line. The Wallabies spread it but they are held up and the Lions have the scrum eight metres from their own line.

The Lions put a massive squeeze on the Wallabies and they win another PENALTY. Halfpenny knocks it over from right in front. 16-3 to the Lions.

Scrum PENALTY to the Lions and Halfpenny is spot-on. 13-3 to the Lions.

George Smith is back on the field. Goose bumps stuff as he gets back out on the paddock. Scrum to the Lions just short of the Wallabies 10-metre line.

Wallabies PENALTY off the restart and Poite blows the Lions up for crossing and Leali'ifano steps up and knocks it over. 10-3 to the Lions.

A great hit from Lydiate on Tomane on halfway and it is a Lions PENALTY 50 metres out. Halfpenny's kick is good and the Lions lead 10-0.

George Smith is out cold. He is coming around after him and Hibbard clashed heads. Not good for the veteran as he knocks it on in contact. He is off for the concussion test. Hooper on the pitch. Scrum to the Lions inside their own 22.

What a start for the Lions. TRY to the loose head prop Alex Corbisiero. Off the kick the Wallabies couldn't keep it and the Lions pounced. Halfpenny CONVERTS the try from close and it is 7-0 to the Lions.

Beautiful conditions at the ANZ Stadium. The Lions will get the game going.

One quarter of an hour to go. Massive expectations from both sides. One slight error could be the difference today. Test match rugby at its best.

The game that everyone is looking forward to. The Wallabies are hosting the Lions in Sydney in what should be an incredible game.
