Volminck is forced to run a kick by Mvovo into touch but the Lions, five metres from their try-line, hold up the maul to win a scrum.

It’s a beautiful afternoon in Durban so we should be in for some running rugby. We’re moments away from kick-off.

The Sharks have made two changes, both in the backline, where Williams and new signing Marais replace the injured pair of Whitehead and Maseko at 12 and 14.The Lions have made a number of changes, the most notable being the return of Jantjies at flyhalf, with Boshoff, despite having an excellent game last weekend, shifting to fullback. De Bruin comes into the midfield for the injured Hanekom, Kriel rotates with Tecklenburg and Van Zyl replaces Greeff.

The two losing sides of the first round go head-to-head and neither will want to drop another match, especially the Sharks at home. They gifted Griquas a perfect start and after working hard to take the lead, allowed the visitors to snatch victory with a last-minute converted try. The Lions, in turn, did well to stay in a game that was dominated by the Cheetahs but leaked four tries and consequently came up short at home.
