PENALTY converted by Coleman. Western Province win the match 33-16, securing them a home final next week.

Coleman puts in a brilliant clearance kick, turning the Lions. And WP take the line-out against the throw. They take it up through de Villiers and Kolbe and they get a penalty. Coleman, going for the 3 points again.


The referee pins the Lions just outside their 22 and Kurt Coleman will kick to the posts. And the PENALTY is over. WP 30-16


TRY by Warren Whiteley for the Lions, just beside the poles. And Boshoff converts.


The Lions run it down the left-hand side of the field, but they Coetzee in dragged into touch. They are taken back though, as Ntubeni gets a YELLOW CARD for a tip tackle.


And he does convert the PENALTY. WP 27-9


Penalty to WP, as the Lions didn't roll away. Catrakilis to extend their lead.


WP are playing a territorial game now. They kick the ball into touch in the Lions' half of the field again. Then they steal it at the ruck.


After Catrakilis overcooked his kick, the Lions can't make use of it. The ball goes straight back into touch after the line-out.


The Lions win it back and they work it up nicely on the blindside. Boshoff now puts in a chip kick and Aplon collects at the back.


WP clears and then turns the ball over at the ruck.


The Lions moves the ball inside the 22, but the touch judge stops the game as he point out to the ref that Eben Etzebeth put in a late tackle earlier the play. The Lions kick a touch deep inside the 22. But Etzebeth steals the Lions' line-out.


WP are looking the keep the Lions in their own half with. But the Lions have a penalty. Loud cheers as Schalk Burger comes off the bench.


Scrum WP


Penalty to the Lions. They take the ball up over the halfway line, but another handling error stops their attack. The Lions will be frustrated with all the unnecessary handling errors.


WP then losses the ball and Lions go wide, but WP turn it over again. And Aplon puts in chip kick, which is covered at the back by Boshoff.


The Lions have a line-out just over the halfway line. They go over the gain line, but Jacques van Rooyen losses it forward.


They secure their line-out and but a loose pass from Jean de Villiers in midfield, goes into touch.


WP's Duane Vermeulen steals the ball though and with that wins WP a penalty.


The Lions get a penalty straight from the restart, WP pinned for obstruction. Lions set-up the line-out inside WP's 22.


WP starting to look dangerous, as they run the ball from inside their own 22 into the Lions' 22. The Lions come in from the side and Province get another PENALTY. Catrakilis converts.


WP make an unforced error, and the referee brings them back for the penalty. Catrakilis go for the 3 points on offer. PENALTY over, WP 21-9


WP now inside Lions' 22. And they spread it wide. Advantage WP after 16 phases.


WP kicks it downfield, Jantjies returns and WP are on the attack.


After some sideways running by the Lions, Jantjies puts in a chip kick, but his counterpart Catrakilis, has it covered, who then puts in a little chip kick himself which captain Deon Fourie collects.


Lions is in over the ball quickly and wins a penalty.They set-up a line-out on WP's 10m line, but the throw was not straight.


Catrakilis starts the second half, with a deep kick.


What an effect will CJ van der Linde's injury have on the game, especially after the Lions dominated the scrum in the first half?


WP get a penalty as the half-time hooter sounds, and Catrakilis converts the PENALTY into a 3-pointer. Half-time WP 18-9


The Lions are trying to build anattack, but de Villiers make a ball and all tackle and the Lions knock it on.


WP puts in a kick behind the Lions defence. The Lions take a quick throw in and they clear.


Gio Aplon just set Newlands alight, with a razzle dazzle run beating two Lions cover defenders to score a TRY in the left corner.


Catrakilis can't add the extras. WP lead 15-9


The Lions go forward after several phases, but a brilliant counter ruck, hands possession back to the home side.


But the Lions once again turn the ball over, and kicks it downfield. WP clears to the halfway line and the Lions get the throw.


WP now on the attack just outside the Lions' 22m, but the Lions turn it over and Andries Coetzee clears. but Cheslin Kolbe brings play right back with a dazzling counter attack.


The Lions get a penalty, just outside WP's 22, Kolisi pinned for not releasing. Jantjies going the 3. And the PENALTY is over.


The Lions turn the ball over in their own half of the field and Jantjies hacks it downfield. Volminck chases, but Gerhard van Heever clears.


WP on get front foot ball and taking it through the phases, after Catrakilis set-up the line-out.


It's a bit scrappy at kick-off time for both teams. WP now get a scrum penalty, as the Lions went in on the angle.


They secure the ball through Kolisi though. And After Vermeulen passed a few defenders, Catrakilis goes over for the first TRY of the match.


WP are struggling at scrum time.


Jantjies looking to put his team in the lead again. And he does, PENALTY over. Lions 6-3


The Lions get scrum just over the 10m line. And the ref pins the Cape side again. Penalty Lions.


WP had an advantage, they Catrakilis kicks the PENALTY, to bring the score to 3-all.
