And that the ball game. The Sharks puts the ball into touch. They win the match 33--22 and will head to Cape Town to contest in the Currie Cup final against Western Province.

Again the Cheetahs demolish the Sharks' scrum, but Reinach gets the ball, kicks it and it goes into touch from a Cheetahs deflection.


The Cheetahs have a scrum just over the Sharks' 10m line, but they concede a free kick. The hosts opt for another scrum.


The Cheetahs run it out of their 22 with Rhule gaining a lot of ground after beating his defender. The Sharks turn it over, but they knock it on.


They knock the ball on again, but there was an advantage for a dangerous tackle. They take it quickly and they score a TRY. Schalk van der Merwe the scorer. Goosen misses the conversion.


Goosen then chip kicks and they reclaim the ball, but again a knock on stops their momentum.


The Cheetahs win a penalty after they put in a monstrous scrum. Goosen go for touch and they move inside the 22.


The Cheetahs, back to a full complement of 15 men, lose their front-foot ball. Lambie kicks a grubber in the Cheetahs' 22.

The Sharks now just meters short. And they score a TRY. Heimar Williams rounds off a brilliant team try.

The Cheetahs on the front foot now, as they go into the 22, but Cobus Reinach rips the ball away. There is a flag from the touch judge and du Plessis is YELLOW CARDED for stepping on a player.


The scrums have been a bit messy in the second half. The Sharks get a scrum penalty. Lambie looking to extend their lead. And his PENALTY attempt is over. Sharks lead 26-10

Sharks scrumhalf puts in a little grubber from the scrum. Rhule clears it downfield, but the Sharks run it back. Lambie sparking the counter attack. They go over the line, but the ball is up off the ground.


TMO called in after after a bit of pushing, but he rules it was nothing serious.


After two resets at the scrum, the Cheetahs make a knock on.


The Sharks not gaining any ground from that scrum. They are held up and the Cheetahs now have a scrum on just over their own 10m line.


The Cheetahs knock the ball on after the restart. Momentum now with the Sharks.

The Sharks run at the Cheetahs defence after a Goosen clearance kick. The ref calls a maul and gives the scrum feed to the Sharks as they were going forward. Scrum Sharks inside the Cheetahs' 22.


And he nails the PENALTY from the midfield. 16-10


The Cheetahs hold on the the ball, they aren't making a lot of ground. After 17 phases, they knock the ball on, but there was an advantage. Goosen to kick for 3.

The Lambie clears, and the Cheetahs run it back at the Sharks


Half-time at Kings Park, the host lead 16-7.


As half-time approaches, the Sharks spark to life and run the ball into the 22. Penalty Sharks and Lambie converts it into the a 3 pointer.


TRY to the Sharks, who got go forward ball after a burst from Coetzee. Lambie the try scorer. And he converts his own try.


Sharks get a scrum penalty and Lambie kicks into touch just outside the 22.

Smit hacks it downfield, straight into Mvovo's arms. But he is held up in the tackle by the Cheetahs.


Lambie puts in a little kick, but it drifts directly into touch. Cheetahs line-out right on their 10m line.


The Sharks move it through their forwards, then Lambie kicks and up and under, which Raymond Rhule takes brilliantly, but then knock it on.


A Cheetahs kick is charged down in midfield, but their cover defence is up to the task.


Lambie converts the PENALTY this time. 7-6


A bit of a kicking contest at the moment. Ndugane finally punts it into touch over the Cheetahs' 10m line. The home side then steal it at the line-out and get a penalty as Cheetahs stole the ball illegally.


Sharks get it back, but is penalised as Daniel was infront of a du Plessis kick.


The Sharks get front foot ball and sifts it quickly to their backline, but the Cheetahs turn it over.


Another free kick to the Sharks. They ask for another scrum.


The score remain 7-3 in favour of the visitors.

The Sharks now take the ball through a few phases, the ball pops out of a ruck and Strauss hacks it forward. Keegan Daniel runs back to cover, but he is taken over the try-line by Piet van Zyl. 5m Scrum to the Cheetahs.


The Cheetahs kick it high in the air, and Ndungane collects.

The Sharks are giving kicking possession away and then du Plessis is pinned for not releasing.


The Cheetahs puts in a neat little chip kick and then another grubber, but they are then penalised as Robert Ebersohn was ahead of the kicker.


The Cheetahs are on the attack almost on the Sharks' 5m line, but Bismarck du Plessis is in on the ball and wins a penalty for his team. Lambie clears.


Lambie converts the PENALTY into 3 points for the Sharks.

The Cheetahs however held the Sharks' ball carrier up and they get the scrum feed, just outside their own 22.

The Cheetahs have also made two changes to their initial starting XV, with Piet van Zyl in for Sarel Pretorius, who was injured last week. And Riaan Smit replaces Ryno Benjamin.


The tables are now turned. Suddenly the Cheetahs now has the all Springbok frontrow, and the Sharks only has Bismarck du Plessis. Will the loss of Jannie du Plessis and Mtawarira turn the contest in favour of the visitors?


Tendai Mtawariri have pulled out of the Sharks' match day squad and is replaced by Dale Chadwick in the starling XV. This after fellow Springbok prop Jannie du Plessis was also ruled out of the match-up earlier in the week due to an injury sustained in training.
