Deans' latest innovation revealed

Wallaby coach Robbie Deans has a reputation for being a innovator, and is now using a new cutting edge gadget to help his teams attack; the head-cam.
The head-cam makes use of first person perspectives, with miniature lenses attached to a players headgear. Matt Giteau was pictured in Australia's Daily Telegraph wearing the headgear, and it seems it is a piece of equipment designed to help the Wallaby playmakers on attack.
Giteau, along with fellow Wallaby backs Berrick Barnes and Drew Mitchell, were seen using the head-cams in training drills, running against full defensive lines. The images captured on the cam will then be scrutinised by Deans and his coaching team, where a players vision of space in the field can be analysed.
This technology could help decision-making, as a direct line of sight will be shown from a player's perspective. The head-cam is another example of Deans' innovation and of the Wallabies' reputation for finding new ways to counter their Southern Hemisphere opponents' strength in the traditional rugby sense.
The head-cam is a first for rugby but has previously been used in American Grid-Iron.
