Parramatta rugby league club Chief Executive Paul Osborne has resigned himself to the fact that Quade Cooper is set to stay in rugby union.
Osborne revealed at the weekend that he had not heard from the Wallaby star for a number of weeks.
Before the Wallabies' two-Test Tri-Nations trip to South Africa - which ended one-all at the weekend - Cooper had been heavily linked with the Eels and was still yet to make a decision about which code he will play.
Parramatta tabled an offer of around AU$1.5-million for Cooper to switch over and become the club's key playmaker next season and forego leading Australia's hopes in the 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand.
Osborne said the same money was still there to bring Cooper to Parramatta, despite the club announcing the signing of former representative forwards Reni Maitua and Carl Webb during the week.
However, Osborne isn't confident about the signing and said he was never holding his breath.
"I think he'll stay in rugby [union] I haven't heard from him for a few weeks," Osborne told AAP.
"I always thought he'd stay in rugby."
