Bobo on a Caucau hunt

Fri, 18 Jul 2008 13:37

The former Fijian international Sireli Bobo is hunting for the former Fijian international Rupeni Caucaunibuca.

Caucaunibuca has of all international players the worst record of reliability. After letting Fiji down several times, he then went off to Agen in France. The first season was fine and he ended as the top try-scorer, but then old habits took over, and he is missing again.

Bobo plays for Racing Métro in France's Pro 2, a club which narrowly missed promotion to the Top 14. It's off-season in France and he was home in Fiji on holiday but, according to the Fiji Times, given the assignment of trying to find Caucaunibuca to persuade him to join Racing-Mètro.

Bobo said: "Rups has already signed his contract. The President of the club has asked me to personally bring him over."

He said that if all went well he should be flying off with Caucau next week.

Metro Racing boasts the service of former Fiji skipper Simon Raiwalui, Jone Qovu, and Julian Vulakoro. Of Racing-Mètro's Fijians only Qovo played at the 2007 Rugby World Cup.
