Fiji veteran begging for Baa-Baas

Thu, 26 Jun 2008 14:55

Fiji's Rugby World Cup (RWC) captain Moses Rauluni has joined the list of internationals keen to take part in next month's Ballymore match between a Barbarians side and a Queensland XV.

The Brisbane-raised scrumhalf jumped at the invitation to turn out for the Barbarians in the fund-raising match on July 13 against a David Croft-captained Queensland XV.

Rauluni, who plays professionally for the Saracens club in England, will be back at Ballymore this Sunday on national duties with Fiji, who take on Australia 'A' in the Pacific Nations Cup.

"I haven't played at Ballymore in years so it'll be great to get the opportunity to play there again for Fiji and the Barbarians and to spend a bit more time in Brisbane catching up with people," Rauluni said.

The Barbarians team will also include former All Blacks Scott Robertson and Justin Marshall, England World Cup winning wing Dan Luger, Argentina's Gonzalo Quesada and former Wallaby and Reds star Toutai Kefu.

The team will be coached by Alan Jones, making his rugby coaching return in tandem with Alec Evans, the forwards coach on the triumphant 1984 Grand Slam Wallaby tour.
