France international hooker Sebastien Bruno will be sidelined for at least four months, after rupturing his biceps, according to his English club Sale.
Bruno sustained the injury in Sale's 6-28 Guinness Premiership defeat by London Irish, the club's first loss of the season.
In the same game, lock Sean Cox dislocated his kneecap and will be out of action for up to five months.
Sale's director of rugby, Philippe Saint-Andre, said: "This is bad news for both players and the club.
"Both Sebastien and Sean have been playing well and they will be missed.
"They will receive the best medical care and help with their rehabilitation and we look forward to having them back playing again."
