Scotland A on top

Scotland A beat the Georgian team that came to Scotland 69-3 at Firhill, Glasgow, on Friday night.
It was not by any means the full Georgian side. Only those allowed by their clubs played. That meant they were without 12 first-choice players who play for French clubs and could be more correctly regarded as Georgia A, as the Georgian coach Tim Lane pointed out. But the Scottish side had a full-strength look about it with veteran internationals like Nikki Walker, Simon Webster and Gavin Kerr in the squad.
When the Scots destroyed the Georgian scrum it was obvious that this was not an up-to-standard side as scrummaging is the Lelos' strength.
By half-time Scotland A had scored five tries and led 31-3.
Richie Vernon scored the first try and Georgian fullback Otar Barkalaia goaled a penalty. That made the score 5-3. After that it was all Scotland as they ran in 11 tries without conceding one and Kelly Brown was probably the star of the
windy night.
