Job Offer: Eddie O'Sullivan linked with Biarritz

Reports in the media have linked the out of work former Ireland coach Eddie O’Sullivan with a move to take over as head coach at French giants Biarritz.

O’Sullivan has been out of work since leaving his international jobs at the end of the last Six Nations competition but has been rumoured to be interested in a return to top flight coaching for some time now.

While apparently also considering the vacancy for the position of Director of Rugby at the Osprey’s the news in the Irish press claimed that the Corksman was in fact seen in Biarittz earlier this week and is now being lined up to replace current coaches Jacques Delmas and Jack Isaac.

Having been French Champions in three of the last seven seasons the expectations are always high for BO but, following the departure of coach Patrice Lagisquet at the end of last season, they have struggled to get their campaign going.

Last weekends heavy defeat to Clermont Auvergne is believed to have caused serious reaction from the French clubs hierarchy and, should results not improve quickly, it seems possible that O’Sullivan could re-emerge from his hiatus at a club many still believe could be Heineken Cup contenders.
