Strength and conditioning coach Paul Pook looks set to be the last piece in the puzzle for Ireland coach Declan Kidney after it was confirmed that he has joined the international sides coaching staff.
Pook, who has experience with Ebbw Vale, Wales U-21 and Harlequins, has signed on up until, and including, the 2011 World Cup Campaign.
Kidney says he was delighted to have the Welshmen on board and, given that he also has experience working within the IRFU and the Irish provincial setup, he would no doubt prove to be a great addition to the team.
"Paul brings excellent experience and a good understanding of working with the provincial teams," said Kidney to the Irish Independent.
Speaking about his new role himself Pook said: "To get the opportunity to work with such a talented group of professional players and coaches is an exciting prospect.
"My experience of working with the Irish players has been very positive and this is a testament to the excellent work of the provincial fitness staff."
As well as his involvement with professional rugby Pook i also the co-author of the book 'Complete Conditioning for Rugby and The Core Workout'.
