Qualifying Sevens in Hanover

The Final round of the European Sevens will be played in Hanover this weekend, doubling as a qualifier for the Sevens World Cup in Dubai in 2009.

The qualifying process started in Odense, Denmark, on 10 May 2008. So far 35 countries have taken part. That has now be pared down to 12 for Hanover and of those 12 five will go to Dubai.

The 12 for Hanover, divided into two pools, are: Russia, Georgia, Spain, Germany, Portugal, Romania, Belgium, Ireland, Italy, Wales, Poland, Ukraine.

The matches will be played at the AWD Arena, where 30 000 spectators have already bought their tickets and will be shown on television in Germany.

Pool A: Russia, Georgia, Spain, Germany, Portugal, Romania
Pool B: Belgium, Ireland, Italy, Wales, Poland, Ukraine
