Namibians head for Romania

Mon, 28 Jan 2008 18:47

Two members of the Namibian World Cup squad have headed for Romania and are to join the Constanta club.

This is an unusual migration, as Romanian players are inclined to play abroad.

Wing Ryan Witbooi and scrumhalf Eugene Jantjies are said to have signed for the Constanta club on Monday - a contract set to last till 2010.

Last season the itinerant duo played for the Namibian club Western Suburbs.

Romania is not unknown territory to the Namibians, for they played there in June last year in the International Rugby Board (IRB) Nations Cup.
