Award winner: Daniel Braid starting for the All Blacks

Flank Daniel Braid will start for the All Blacks against Australia in the Tri-Nations/Bledisloe Cup double header in Sydney on Saturday. Injured captain Richie McCaw has not recovered sufficiently from a high ankle sprain to take his place in the Test side this week.

Wellington's Rodney So'oialo will continue to captain the side in McCaw's absence.

The All Blacks will travel to Sydney with 24 players - Otago's Adam Thomson and North Harbour's Rudi Wulf join the matchday 22.

Meanwhile, Kevin O'Neill, who has trained with the All Blacks this week, will play for Waikato against Bay of Plenty in an Air New Zealand Cup pre-season match on Thursday.

All Black prop Neemia Tialata will play club rugby in Wellington this weekend.
