Thu, 02 Jul 2009 09:34

Thirteen All Blacks will be pulling on their club jerseys and playing club rugby up and down the country this weekend ahead of the Tri Nations.

In the greater Auckland region, Luke McAlister will play for his Silverdale club on Saturday afternoon against Mahurangi at Silverdale Memorial Park, while across the bridge John Afoa will be playing alongside many of his Auckland and Blues teammates when his University team takes on undefeated Ponsonby at Colin Maiden park. In the Counties Manukau club rugby competition, Lelia Masaga's Manurewa team has the bye so Masaga has been given approval to play for Papakura against Pukekohe at Colin Lawrie Fields.

In the Waikato, Sitiveni Sivivatu is slated to play for Frankton against United Matamata Sports at Swarbrick Park, Brendon Leonard will be playing for his Morrinsville Sports team against Hamilton Marist at Marist Park, Liam Messam will play for Hautapu against Fraser Tech at Elliot Park and Aled de Malmanche will play for Hamilton Old Boys against Melville at Melville.

In Hawke's Bay, Bryn Evans will look to help his Havelock North team against Napier Old Boys Marist at Tremain Field in what will be a crucial match, with both teams sharing second place on the Maddison Trophy table.

In the Wellington club competition, Cory Jane's Upper Hutt side will be taking on Marist St Pats at Evans Bay.

In the Canterbury club competition, Wyatt Crockett will play for his Burnside club against Marist Albion at Burnside Park while Owen Franks will take on his All Blacks team mate George Whitelock when his Linwood side takes on High School Old Boys at Rugby Park.

Meanwhile, Andrew Hore will play for Maniototo against Matakanui Combined in the Otago Country Central Region club competition at the Maniototo Park Stadium in Ranfurly.
