The United States Rugby Union (USRU) has confirmed that the double header featuring teams from New Zealand, Uruguay and the US will go ahead at the new Real Salt Lake Stadium in Sandy, Utah, on Saturday, November 8.
The day of rugby kicks off with the US Select XV taking on a New Zealand Heartland selection. The main event, between the United States and Uruguay national teams, will be an official Test.
"Having the opportunity to play two games in a great stadium brings added value to the experience," US Rugby CEO and President of Rugby Nigel Melville said.
"When I visited Utah earlier this year, the community was extremely passionate about the sport and keen to host this match. Considering the number of national team members that have come out of this area and the amount of support from their community, it goes without saying that we would be extremely interested in developing a strong relationship with Real Salt Lake and its beautiful new Stadium."
Construction on the new state-of-the-art, sports and entertainment facility began in April of 2007, with completion slated for October this year.
"We are extremely delighted to have US Rugby as one of our first guests at the new Stadium in Sandy," said Real Salt Lake President Bill Manning.
"The sport of rugby has always enjoyed a strong following in our state, and we are excited to showcase this venue as a home for another US national team, not only for this match, but for years to come."
