The Wales Rugby Union (WRU) has confirmed it is in discussion with the Rugby Football Union (RFU) about proposals for new, Anglo-Welsh cup competitions including one which would feature Premiership clubs from Wales.

The president of the Welsh Rugby Union, Dennis Gethin, announced on Thursday that a statue will be erected at Millennium Stadium to honour Sir Tasker Watkins, VC, former president of the Welsh Rugby Union, who died last September, just short of his 99th birthday.
