No rush for Chiefs, Crusaders
Tue, 24 Jul 2012 10:55
The Chiefs and Crusaders will not rush to South Africa should they have to play the Super Rugby Final in the Republic.
The winner of Friday's semifinal in Hamilton will have to wait until Saturday's other semifinal in Cape Town to see whether they will host the Sharks or visit the Stormers the following weekend.
They could have flown to Sydney on Saturday before catching a Sunday flight to South Africa to give them maximum time to acclimatise in the event of a Cape Town Final.
But Chiefs CEO Gary Dawson says they will only get into South Africa on Monday night.
"Essentially we'll wait here and just see what the result of the Sharks Stormers game is and then, as I say, fly to Sydney on Sunday afternoon - overnight there."
