Mitchell and Redpath's roles revealed
Wed, 31 Oct 2012 19:26
The Sale Sharks on Wednesday confirmed the roles of John Mitchell and Bryan Redpath.
Redpath, who was removed from his position as Director of Rugby following the club's seventh successive defeat, will take on the role of head coach while former All Black mentor Mitchell will join the team’s management.
Mitchell will serve on a Rugby Strategy Management board which will meet regularly to devise and review the long-term rugby strategy of the club.
The board will be chaired by Sale owner Brian Kennedy and will consist of Mitchell, Redpath, Ian Blackhurst and Steve Diamond.
“The priority of all the management within Sale Sharks is to get back to winning ways and secure our position in the Premiership. We believe we have the playing and coaching talent and structure to achieve this,” Kennedy said in a statement.
“Beyond this we must plan medium and long-term to compete at the top of the game and this will be the remit of the strategy board.”
