Bath duo's appeals dismissed
Thu, 06 Dec 2012 18:34
Bath duo Matt Banahan and Lee Mears had their appeals against suspensions dismissed on Thursday.
Banahan was given a three-week ban after he was sent off for a dangerous tackle on Anthony Allen during last weekend's Premiership clash against Leicester Tigers.
Mears was cited for punching in the same game and received a two-week ban.
The pair’s appeals were heard by Gareth Rees QC in London. Hooker Mears will be free to play on December 17 with centre Banahan sidelined until December 24.
London Irish No.8 Chris Hala'Ufia also appealed his five-week ban for a tip tackle against London Welsh last Saturday. A decision on his appeal is expected on Friday.
