Dual captaincy for Chiefs
Sat, 02 Feb 2013 18:30
Chiefs coach Dave Rennie has announced that the defending Super Rugby champions will again have two captains in 2013.
The Chiefs, who started their pre-season with an impressive 36-14 win over the Highlanders, will be captained by Craig Clarke and Liam Messam - both having shared the duties when they won their first championship last year.
"They are both top blokes who compliment each other, work hard and bring a different skill set to the side," Rennie said.
"Having co-captains worked really well for us last year, so we decided to continue with it.
"As far as leaders go, these two are highly respected by us all and epitomize what Chiefs’ Mana is all about."
