With the 2013 Varsity Cup play-offs upon us, it is also time to have your say and vote for the Players that Rock in the Varsity Cup and Varsity Shield tournaments.

The public will be an important part of the selection process for the Forward, Back and Player of the tournament for both the Varsity Cup and the Varsity Shield, so get involved and make your voice heard.

With 12 players nominated across the three categories in each competition, you can vote for the Forward that Rocks, Back that Rocks and Player that Rocks on the Varsity Cup Facebook page.

Three players have been nominated in each category by all of the coaches in the two tournaments, with voting split between the public, the players and the Varsity Cup Exco.

The public vote will make up 40 percent of the total, with one vote per person in each category.

The players themselves will vote for each category as well, with their input comprising 30 percent of the total, whilst the Varsity Cup Exco's votes will also count 30 percent.

Last year prolific UP-Tuks flyhalf Wesley Dunlop was the Player that Rocks, with NMMU skipper Jaco Swanepoel the Forward that Rocks and UP-Tuks fullback Clayton Blommetjies the Back that Rocks.

Blommetjies has been nominated in the same category once again this season, alongside NWU-Pukke try-machine Hoffman Maritz and powerful Madibaz centre Howard Mnisi.

Versatile Maties forward Reniel Hugo, who has played both lock and No.8 this season, has been nominated in both the Forward that Rocks and Player that Rocks category along with hard-working UFS-Shimlas skipper Oupa Mohoje.

They are joined in the Player that Rocks category by inspirational Madibaz captain Roy Godfrey who has captained his team to a first-ever semifinal place this season and is flying the flag for the front row forwards.

In the Varsity Shield, Fort Hare captain Billy Dutton is joined by his counterpart from CUT Inus Kritzinger (a regular in the Varsity Shield end-of-season nominations) and UWC halfback Frederick Muller in the Player that Rocks category.
