Sam Jones has become the latest young English talent to commit his future to London Wasps, signing a new contract with the club this week.
Jones joins an impressive group of young players signed up for the long term at Wasps, including the likes of Elliot Daly, Joe Launchbury and Christian Wade who are all set to star in the black and gold shirts for years to come.
Jones, 21, has already made over 50 appearances for the club including 24 this season and he has become a regular name on team sheet following a season last year when he was thrust into first team action as a result of a number of injuries.
Rising to that challenge impressively, his performances last season saw him rewarded with the London Wasps Young Player of the Year award.
Jones said: “I have been involved as a player with Wasps for around ten years now and I feel a real loyalty to the club. I am excited about what the future holds for this squad and with lots of young talent staying here, we are heading in a very positive direction.”
London Wasps Director of Rugby Dai Young said: “I am a big fan of Sam’s and his work rate and professionalism is excellent on and off the field.
“I am convinced he will be a long-term regular first team player for this club with huge potential to develop further at international level if he continues to progress as well as he has.”
