The SARU national selectors have called up UP-Tuks lock Jannes Kirsten as replacement for the injured Marvin Orie.

The SARU national selectors have called up UP-Tuks lock Jannes Kirsten as replacement for Marvin Orie who will miss the three-match tour of the South Africa Under-20 training squad to Argentina because of injury.

The South Africa Under-20s travel to Buenos Aires on Wednesday.

Orie, who captained the South Africa Under-20 hopefuls in their training matches earlier this year, has been ruled out of action for up to three months after he suffered a broken leg on Monday while playing for UP-Tuks against Maties in the Varsity Cup Final in Stellenbosch.

The former Tygerberg High School pupil was the leading candidate to captain the South Africa Under-20 team during the Junior World Championship in France.

Kirsten has also represented the Blue Bulls in the Vodacom Cup competition.
