Ikeys in coach search

Former Varsity Cup champs, the Ikey Tigers, are searching for a new coach to replace Kevin Foote who has joined the Force.
Following the luring of UCT coach, Kevin Foote, to the Western Force where he has been appointed defence coach, the Ikey Tigers are seeking to appoint a new head coach, with a view to running their Varsity Cup and local Western Province Super League First XV campaigns.
As such, the club are inviting applications for the position from which a shortlist will be drawn up and interviews conducted. Existing UCTRFC coaches are encouraged to apply.
The last two seasons have been leaner for the former Varsity Cup champions as the team rebuilds following the successful transition from their club to professional rugby with the likes of Demetri Catrakilis, Nic Groom, Marcello Sampson, Martin Muller, Mat Turner, Don Armand, Grant Kemp, Nick Fenton-Wells, Kyle Brown, Marcel Brache all moving successfully into the professional ranks.
It's been no different for coaches, when you consider that their last coaches have included Alan Solomons, John Dobson (with Robbie Fleck) and, of course, Foote - all of whom are now coaching at higher levels.
According to UCT club GM, Gavin Sheldon: "We intend to advertise this position both on the web and by word of mouth, as well as approach one or two individuals, internally and possibly externally, to see whether they may be interested. Ideally we would like to fill this position in the mid year to allow for decent Varsity Cup planning and recruitment.
"We have no doubt given the obvious opportunities we seem to provide coaches and a stimulating working environment in a very proud rugby institution, that we will get the right person to take Ikeys forward."
Any interested coaches should mail the club their CV's and a covering note to email@example.com
