He did some controlled training
The Stormers could have to make do without flank Siya Kolisi in their opening match of their Australasian tour against the Hurricanes on Friday.
Kolisi is struggling with a groin injury he sustained in the 22-15 victory over the Sharks at Newlands a fortnight ago and will need to pass a late fitness test.
“I’ve given Siya until Thursday’s captain’s [practice] to see if he’s going to come through it,” said Stormers coach Allister Coetzee.
“He didn’t train during the Bok camp and he did some controlled training this week, so we’ll see at captain’s how he’s going to go for this week.”
Should Kolisi be ruled out, the versatile Deon Fourie could move from hooker to flank with Martin Bezuidenhout coming into the matchday 22 or Nizaam Carr could be called in as a direct replacement.
