Italy coach Jacques Brunel included four uncapped players in his 32-man squad for the upcoming tour to South Africa.
Earning their first international call-ups were hooker Andrea Manici, scrumhalf Alberto Chillon, wing Leonardo Sarto and flyhalf Alberto Di Bernardo.
Simone Favaro, Quintin Geldenhuys and Mirco Bergamasco are all injured and miss out.
Italy play the Springboks in Durban on June 8, Samoa in Nelspruit on June 15 and a third match in Pretoria on June 22 - after the positions for this four-nations tournament have been confirmed.
