Bath are investigating claims that their controversial new signing Gavin Henson was punched by a teammate in a pub.
"Bath Rugby can confirm there was a minor incident in the city centre on Wednesday night involving a few members of the playing squad," a statement read.
"The club are investigating the matter as a priority and will only make a statement when further information is available."
British media reports said that former Wales international Henson, who signed for the Premiership club from London Welsh in June, was knocked unconscious by the punch.
Police confirmed that they were contacted but the group left the pub, meaning officers were not required to attend and no offences were being investigated.
Henson, capped 33 times for his country, was a promising inside back but his career has failed to live up to the early promise he showed.
The 31-year-old has won two Six Nations Grand Slams but has not played for Wales since 2011 through injury and off-field incidents.
In April last year, he was sacked by Cardiff Blues for inappropriate drunken behaviour on a flight.
He was also released by French side Toulon after a nightclub brawl with teammates.
