The club is not one of the proposed bidding agents
Racing Metro have dismissed reports that they are hunting the signature of British and Irish Lions star Leigh Halfpenny.
The Welsh fullback has become one of the most sought-after players in world rugby after playing a starring role in the Lions’ recent 2-1 series win over the Wallabies.
Halfpenny is entering the final year of his contract with the Blues and although the Cardiff club are eager to retain the 24-year-old’s services, they are expected to lose him to the lure of a lucrative French deal.
Halfpenny had been linked to a move with Racing Metro, who have already snapped up Lions trio Jonny Sexton, Jamie Roberts and Dan Lydiate, European champions Toulon and Clermont.
The Paris-based club on Tuesday, however, denied that they were in the market for in Halfpenny.
"Racing Metro 92, through its president Jacky Lorenzetti, wishes to deny this information. The club is not one of the proposed bidding agents," the club said in a statement.
