Kings call on Murray
Tue, 30 Jul 2013 16:07
Springbok centre Waylon Murray returns to the Southern Kings starting line-up for the crunch promotion-relegation play-off against the Lions at Ellis Park on Saturday.
Murray replaces Shane Gates in one of three personnel changes to the backline that started in the 19-26 opening leg loss in Port Elizabeth last Friday.
Out wide, Scott van Breda comes into the run-on side on the right wing with New Zealander Hadleigh Parkes moving to the left in place of Marcello Sampson.
The final change to the back division, as expected, sees George Whitehead start at flyhalf in place of Demitri Catrakilis, who will be sidelined for between four to six weeks due to a shoulder injury.
Whitehead’s promotion to the starting XV sees Wesley Dunlop come on to the bench as flyhalf cover.
