The World XV suffered another injury setback for their match against the Springboks at Newlands on Saturday

Lions prop Julian Redelinghuys has not recoverd from a calf strain that saw him withdraw at the last minute against the Bulls on the weekend.

Coach Nick Mallett, who has had to make a few late changes in the build-up to the clash, has called on Springbok prop Pat Cilliers to take his place.

Redelinghuys was included in Mallett's team after former Springbok prop BJ Botha withdrew due to knee and ankle problems.

"Julian Redelinghuys pulled out with a calf injury, he wasn't fit for last weekend and he failed a fitness test so we got Pat Cilliers which I am pleased about.

"He had a really good game last weekend and he was in the Springbok mix so he is very enthusiastic to play.

"He is arriving later, he was up at his farm in the Midlands when I phoned him yesterday [Monday] afternoon," Mallett explained.

Mallett also lost live-wire hooker Schalk Brits, but this time it was the opposition poaching from the former Azzurri coach rather than injury.

Brits was called into the Springbok's squad for the first time since being in the international wilderness since November 2012, last playing against England.

The five Toulon players in the World XV squad will only arrive in Cape Town on Wednesday after celebrating winning the double, so they will take limited part in training.

"Then otherwise those five Toulon players are arriving here tomorrow [Wednesday] morning.

"They will come to training but they probably won't train, so they will just watch a few of our exit strategies and defence and stuff like that," Mallett added.
