Player Ratings: Blown away

Defeated in all aspects of the game
The Welsh have been outplayed in every aspect as the Springboks ran riot scoring 38 points to 16.
Right from the start the Wales team were under pressure from attacking flair of the Springbok backs as well as the physical force of the forwards.
There were brief periods of play where the Welsh could go through a few phases, and Cuthbert was well deserved for the individual effort that got him a try, but Gatland's men have a lot of work to do before next week.
Gatland came over with intentions of white washing the Springboks on their own turf, but it was always going to be a monumental task especially with many key players missing.
Darryn Pollock rates the Dragons
15 Liam Williams:
Made a few metres but it was usually just running into a wall of green.
14 Alex Cuthbert:
Showed some good pace when he got the chance to run, forced to look for work off his wing and got a long distance try for his efforts.
13 Jonathan Davies:
Made to play a defensive role with very limited ball, but did have a few good, direct runs.
12 Jamie Roberts:
Shown up by his much younger opposite number, had to do a lot of tackling.
11 George North:
Never had the chance to be unleashed on attack so spent most of his time trying to look after Hendricks who got underneath him for a try.
10 Dan Biggar:
Good vision with the drop goals trying to keep his team in touch, but was truly bashed all over the field while being forced to tackle Serfontein over and over again.
9 Mike Phillips
His poor decision making mostly led to lost possession, did nothing much more than add to his bad boy reputation.
8 Taulupe Faletau:
Made his way around the park, trying to plug holes in the defense where they kept springing up.
7 Aaron Shingler:
Tackled his heart out against a rampaging Bok team and looked the busiest of the Welsh forwards.
6 Dan Lydiate:
Contributed to the tackle count along with his loose forward compatriots.
5 Alun Wyn Jones (captain):
A poor performance by the captain - did not look interested at all.
4 Luke Charteris:
Faired well against Matfield in the lineouts but didn't do much else.
3 Adam Jones:
left the game after half an hour with little contribution - a 100th cap he will want to forget.
2 Ken Owens:
Made masses of tackles and did all he could in a losing cause.
1 Gethin Jenkins:
destroyed in the scrums and did nothing else.
16 Matthew Rees: (on for Owens in the 58th minute)
Carried the ball when he could, tried to give some grunt to the forwards.
17 Paul James: (on for Jenkins in the 58th minute)
little more effective than Jenkins.
18 Samson Lee: (on for Jones in the 31st minute)
Came on and added to the tackle count where Jones could not.
19 Ian Evans: (on for Chateris in the 55th minute)
Was not in the same league as the other Welsh Forwards who put their bodies on the line.
20 Josh Turnbull: (on for Shingler in the 55th minute)
Tried to be a bit of a ball carrier when the Welsh did have some limited ball.
21 Gareth Davies: (on for Phillips in the 55th minute)
Far more lively than Phillips, had a great break that almost led to a try and actually looked like an attacking threat.
22 James Hook: (on for Biggar in the 64th minute)
Suited a free flowing game more than Biggar did but it was all in vain.
23 Matthew Morgan: (on for Williams in the 55th minute)
A lively character with some electric pace.
