NEWS:  Australia coach Michael Cheika is no rush to call up Quade Cooper, despite Karmichael Hunt's withdrawal due to injury.

The omission of Cooper was a huge shock to the Australian rugby fraternity.

The coach Michael Cheika said he plans to meet up with Cooper  - currently overseas on holiday - at some point, but for now he is comfortable with the current training squad.

"I imagine I will speak to Cooper face to face and get a had a chance to go through some of those things," he said about the flyhalf who will likely to feature for Brisbane City in the National Rugby Championship.

"None the less, we’re comfortable where we are now," he told rugby.com.au. .

"It doesn’t change our dynamic at five-eighth. We’re comfortable with what we’ve got and I wouldn’t be bringing anyone in for Karmichael,"

Meanwhile, Samu Kerevi has backed his Reds teammate to re-discover his best form and make the national fold.

The centre made his return to the national set-up after an ankle caused him to miss the June Test series.

"Cooper is having a positive mindset on it, he’s going to work harder on himself and his game," Kerevi said.

"I have no doubt he’ll get back to that form and once he’s enjoying his footy again, he’ll come back better and stronger, definitely no doubting that," he added.
