The 26-year-old  Kruis has been a really integral part of head coach Eddie Jones' England squad and so far has started every match under the Australian winning nine games from nine and securing a Grand Slam and a series whitewash over the Wallabies.

Unfortunately for Kruis, the surgery would see him on the sidelines for the forthcoming November internationals, which includes matches against the Springboks, Fiji, Argentina and Australia.

Commenting on Kruis' recovery Saracens Director of Rugby Mark McCall said: "After consultation with [Kruis] and England we are in all in agreement that it’s in the best interest of the player to undergo this minor procedure now with the majority of the season still ahead of us.

"Kruis is on the road to recovery and we look forward to his return to action sooner rather than later,"
