Grenoble coach banned for ref insult

The former Ireland hooker, suspended for "not respecting professional discretion", will be banned from the pitch and referees' changing rooms until January 15, announced the disciplinary committee of the LNR, the body overseeing professional rugby in France.

The LNR also fined Grenoble €50,000, €40,000 of which was suspended.

Another coach caught in the LNR's cross hairs was La Rochelle's Patrice Collazo, banned for a week for having contested the referee's decisions in his team's 0-26 loss to Bordeaux.

Clermont No.8 Fritz Lee has also been punished after picking up a three-week suspension for a high tackle against Lyon.
