France's Poux jumps into coaching role
NEWS: Bordeaux's France international prop Jean-Baptiste Poux has put retirement on hold and will extend for a year with the Top 14 side as he moves into coaching, the club President said Friday.
Poux has reached "a verbal agreement" to see out another season with the western French outfit moving gradually into the role of coach during the course of the year.
"Jean-Baptiste will look after the training of young props, but also the scrum alongside forwards coach Jacques Brunel," said President Laurent Marti.
Capped 42 times for France, Poux began his professional career at Narbonne before spending 11 seasons with Toulouse, where he won three French and European titles. He joined Bordeaux in 2013.
A veteran of three World Cup campaigns, the 37-year-old has since Tuesday been working as a scrum coach with the France national team on the basis of one day a week.
