Another ride on French coaching merry-go-round
New Zealand's Greg Cooper is to leave his job as coach of Stade Francais at the end of the month "for personal reasons", the French Top 14 outfit announced on Tuesday.
The two parties came to a mutual agreement for Cooper, 52, to leave the Paris side after the Top 14 match against Pau on January 28.
"Stade Francais Paris wish to warmly thank Greg for his commitment since arriving in Paris, and all the more so since the takeover of the club by Dr Hans Peter Wild," said club president Hubert Patricot.
Former All Black Cooper joined the Stade Francais coaching staff in 2016 before replacing Gonzalo Quesada in the close season, shortly after the German Wild took over the club in June last year.
Forwards coach Olivier Azam and backs coach Julien Dupuy will take joint charge after Cooper leaves Stade, who are currently struggling in 11th in the Top 14.
Cooper's fellow Kiwi John Haggart will remain in his role as defence coach.
