World Cup Winners tackle Samoa
Former World Cup winners Bakkies Botha, Wynand Olivier, Carl Hayman and Ali Williams have been announced as part of the Ba-Ba's team to face Samoa in their final World Cup warm-up match.
Samoa are in Pool B alongside South Africa, Scotland, USA and Japan. They will have an eye on second spot in the group, with Scotland probably their biggest challenger for a knock out spot.
Super 15 champion coach Jamie Joseph, and New Zealand great Carlos Spencer will take charge of the Barbarians against Samoa.
Joseph led the Highlanders to their first Super Rugby title when they beat the Hurricanes in last month’s final.
"It’s a privilege to take charge of the Barbarians who are known the world over for bringing great players together to play entertaining rugby," said Joseph.
As a player, Joseph won the first of 20 caps for New Zealand in 1992, and made his final appearance in the Rugby World Cup final against South Africa in 1995.
He teams up with 'King Carlos' Spencer, one of the game’s great fly halves, who won 35 caps for New Zealand while playing for the Blues before spells with Northampton Saints, Gloucester and the Johannesburg based Lions.
The Barbarian team will also feature a number of other star players. Adam Thompson, Pierre Spies, Liam Gill and Ben Robinson are amongst those players that will make this a very powerful Ba-Ba's team.
Samoa will go on to open their Rugby World Cup 2015 campaign against the USA at Brighton Community Stadium on September 20.
The Olympic Stadium will host four pool matches – involving France, New Zealand, Ireland and South Africa – and the Bronze Final.
