Kelleher arrested in France

The 39-year-old was picked up in the early hours of Wednesday morning at his home, where he was alleged to be in a drunk condition and taken into custody.

Kelleher arrested in FranceHe was still under arrest late Wednesday afternoon, confirming a report in the Depeche du Midi newspaper. Kelleher, who played for Toulouse from 2007-2011, has fallen foul of the law in France before.

In 2009, he was involved in a brawl after a collision with a car while driving under the influence. He was also arrested in October 2013 in Bordeaux for drink driving.

Kelleher, capped 57 times by the All Blacks, started his career with the Highlanders and the Chiefs in New Zealand before playing at Toulouse for four seasons, helping the French giants to the Top 14 title in 2008 and 2011 as well as the  European Cup in 2010.

He moved to Stade Français in June 2011, where he spent one season before returning to Toulouse where he opened a rugby-themed bar in 2015.
