All Black debut for Barrett?
NEWS: Crusaders lock and younger brother of Beauden Barrett, Scott, could make his New Zealand international debut against Ireland in Chicago on Saturday.
The 22-year-old could feature alongside Patrick Tuipulotu at Soldier Field after news that Luke Romano will miss the Test as he returns home because of a family bereavement.
Romano's departure further depletes the All Blacks' locking stocks, with Brodie Retallick and Sam Whitelock already out injured.
Assistant coach Ian Foster said the team's thoughts were with Romano and the travelling squad could cover his departure rather than flying in a replacement.
He did not specify the nature of the bereavement or say whether Romano would return for the rest of the tour, which includes a second clash with Ireland in Dublin and Tests against France and Italy.
