According to the South Wales-Evening Post the skipper will be replaced by Ospreys flank Justin Tipuric.

No.8 Taulupe Faletau was also ruled out with a knee injury while Liam Williams, who rolled his ankle, is highly unlikely to regain fitness before the clash against the Wallabies.

"Liam was in a boot all last week, it did look quite a serious injury, but we will wait last minute with the medics and we will be guided by them," said defence coach Shaun Edwards.

"We are hopeful he'll play, but he will definitely play a part in this series,"

Howley will name the Wales side on Thursday
